Compilation of a withdrawal plan

How long will my money last?

A suitable alternative to purchasing a life annuity insurance from an insurance company is a capital investment with a withdrawal or payout plan. Financial investments with withdrawal plans ensure that the capital always remains in your hands. You remain flexible in respect of withdrawals, and inheritance to children or other people is possible without difficulty.

However, a problem is posed by the fluctuations of the capital market. Even a security-oriented, well-balanced capital investment is subject to certain fluctuations and risks. In addition, most people tend to underestimate their own expectancy of life.

For that reason, I am of the opinion that financial investments with withdrawal plans come into question only for such people whose lifetime basic requirements are already sufficiently covered by other income or sources of supply such as government, the German pension insurance fund and insurance companies.

Provided this is the case, a financial investment with a payout plan is an opportunity to actively shape one’s retirement.
